Polish Mulled Beer

I want you to know that I really sacrificed myself making this for you today. It’s 90 degrees outside in this beautiful state of Hawaii and my kitchen is steaming hot. I figured that you will appreciate this hot, belly and heart warming drink after hanging out outside, or sitting around a bon fire on a cool night. If you are a beer lover like me, this may be your new fall and winter favorite.

Hot beer reminds me of a snow covered pine forest on a wintery evening, with a fire crackling and bunch of people huddled around for a warm up. The woods behind my home spread for miles, and it provided entertainment for us in the winter and summer. There was a small pond that would freeze over in the winter time providing us with nature-made ice rink, where we would make trails with snow shovels and race when we were kids. It was only a few feet deep, so we knew we were safe after a few weeks of freezing temperatures.

When we got older, we’d walk through the woods to collect fire wood and build bon fires, roast sausages (never marsh mellows) and hang out with friends for hours. The cold never bothered us, as we were warmed up by the fire on the outside and the hot beverage on the inside.
